Arcade Fire frontman Win Butler has been giving his thoughts on the band’s appearance at next year’s Glastonbury festival.

Arcade Fire confirmed their booking for 2014 on social media yesterday (December 19th), and soon after Butler was in the BBC studios with Zane Lowe to go into more detail.

“It’s great, it’s such a communal, rite of passage in the UK and there’s this very communal spirit to the whole thing, which is our band’s thing,” he said. “It’ll be a point in touring where we will be scary good. With our new percussionist, we’re playing so much better together and on a musical level we’re ready to strap on our wellies and let it rip.”

“I’m going to go ahead and guarantee the Friday will be a gorgeous Californian sunshine day. I 100% guarantee you. If not, Glastonbury will refund your ticket. They might sell some tickets now. Oh wait, they all sold out before announcing anyone.”

Just after Glastonbury, Arcade Fire have their own outdoor gig to navigate when they play Marlay Park in Dublin on June 29th.
