Pixies have been announced as the first 2014 headliner for the newly expanded Field Day festival.
The US band may well be armed with more new material by the time they top the Field Day bill on June 8th next year after the release of ‘EP 1‘ in the summer.
While many other festivals struggle on as a going concern, earlier this month Field Day confirmed their intention to flesh out to a full weekend for 2014 having launched as a one-day fair in 2007.
“I am thrilled that Field Day is now taking place over two days in London’s Victoria Park,” promoter Tom Baker said at the time. “It’s been a long time coming. I can’t wait to reveal who’s playing.”
