Arctic Monkeys have been forced to postpone a gig at the Glasgow Hyrdo Arena tonight (November 1st) as frontman Alex Turner has been diagnosed with laryngitis.

After pulling out of a concert in Birmingham yesterday, the band have now rescheduled Glasgow for November 21st, with Birmingham moved to the 20th. As it stands, their hometown show in Sheffield tomorrow goes ahead as planned.

“Following the decision to postpone the show at the Birmingham LG Arena tonight and after seeking medical advice, Arctic Monkeys must also postpone the show at the Glasgow Hydro on Fri November 1st,” a statement explains.

“Alex Turner has been diagnosed with Laryngitis and is regrettably not able to perform. The show at the LG Arena in Birmingham will now take place on November 20th and the show at the Glasgow Hydro will now take place on November 21st. All tickets will remain valid for these shows.”

Arctic Monkeys have been touring extensively since the release of ‘AM‘, and began the UK dates almost immediately after the conclusion of a long North American stint.
