Jools Holland had major UK stars young and old as the special guests on Later… last night (October 22nd), as Paul McCartney and the Arctic Monkeys aired tracks from their respective new albums. British-based viewers can check out performances of ‘New‘ and ‘R U Mine?‘ below.
Sir Paul has been on the campaign trail lately, and has performed surprise sets in both New York City and London, whilst also undertaking a special signing session at the newly relocated HMV on Oxford Street. In the end, the latest solo LP of his long career entered at #3 on last week’s Album Chart, behind John Newman and Pearl Jam.
Arctic Monkeys, meanwhile, have been enjoying significant commercial success with their own 2013 record ‘AM‘, and are back in the UK for a tour of arenas which began in Newcastle this week. The trip also takes in two nights at the threatened Earls Court venue in London before ending on home-turf early next month.
