“The song is loosely based on a ‘pap’ I witnessed outside a Brit awards after party, he was taking a picture of Conor Styles or whoever but looked thoroughly disinterested. It led me to feel slightly sorry for him,” Murphy told NME.
“We recorded the song in Los Angeles with Eric Valentine, over the course of 10 days in July. It was an easy track to record, although a few lyric changes were made to make it sound slightly less ‘creepy’.”
‘Your Body Is a Weapon’ is available to download from today (October 2nd) and acts as the appetiser to a main course in the shape of the band’s third studio album, which is expected soon and follows 2011’s ‘The Wombats Present…This Modern Glitch‘.
