Neutral Milk Hotel make live return after 15 years

Neutral Milk Hotel were onstage for the first time in 15 years last night (October 11th) as a run of North American and Asian dates began in Baltimore.

Famed for their cult classic 1998 album ‘In The Aeroplane Over The Sea‘, the group made good their escape soon after that release, before a return was preempted by solo live shows for frontman Jeff Mangum in 2010.

And earlier this year the comeback was rubber-stamped with the announcement of a touring itinerary which will now run into 2014 with European festival dates and UK headline concerts.

According to Consequence Of Sound, last night’s 18-song set featured plenty of firm favourites from ‘In The Aeroplane Over The Sea‘ along side earlier material, and was as follows:

‘Two-Headed Boy’
‘The Fool’
‘Holland’
‘A Baby For Pree’
‘Garden Head Leave Me Alone’
‘Everything Is’
‘King of Carrot Flowers’
‘Aeroplane’
‘Oh Comely’
‘Song Against Sex’
‘Ruby Bulbs’
‘Snow Song’
‘Ghost’
‘Carnival In’
‘Two-Headed Boy Pt. 2’
‘Naomi’
‘Ferris Wheel On Fire’
‘Engine’
