Muse frontman Matt Bellamy believes he and his two bandmates will meet up to start working on new music ‘sometime next year’ after the conclusion of a six-album record deal.

“Early next year I think we’ll probably take a break for a few months and at some point next year we’ll start writing new music,” Bellamy tells Billboard. “I think if everyone is up for it, we’ll start recording music sometime next year.”

Of more immediate concern for the band is their impending concert film Muse – Live at Rome Olympic Stadium, which is breaking new ground as the first to be shot in ultra high definition 4K. As Bellamy describes during the interview, such technology presented unexpected headaches for the trio.

“There’s weird things like hair and stuff that you probably would never pay attention to,” he said. “It’s so much more noticeably sharper that it’s almost unsettling at first.”

The concert gets its advance screening on November 5th in 20 cities including London, Los Angeles, Rome, Tokyo and Paris, with 100 cinemas across the globe then showing the movie on November 7th.
