Elbow’s Guy Garvey: New album could be called ‘All At Once’

Elbow frontman Guy Garvey has revealed the band’s just-announced new album could be called ‘All At Once‘ as it reflects on the mind-set of hitting 40 years of age.

“The record might be called ‘All At Once’ because you are all ages at once at 40,” Garvey is quoted as saying in the Daily Star. “Society tells you that you have to live in the moment, so you see guys at 40 looking more thoughtful than anyone older or younger.”

“A lot of my friends are discovering ecstasy as they near 40 and I’m going: ‘What the hell are you doing?’ We were on the fringes of the E generation but we didn’t get into it. But how does a rock star have a mid-life crisis? Sell his motorbike?”

Out in March 2014, Elbow’s sixth LP is supported with a UK arena tour opening up on April 5th next year at the Birmingham LG. It ends on April 16th at the O2 in London.
