MGMT have debuted the video for the latest track to be taken from their self-titled third album. Check out ‘Cool Song No.2‘ below.
The typically off-kilter promo features The Wire actor Michael K. Williams, and arrives in the week of its parent album’s release, which is so far garnering a generally positive response despite the duo’s early reservations about how their continued focus on experimentation would be received.
Meanwhile, in a new interview with Digital Spy, band member Ben Goldwasser has lamented the impact of Facebook and Twitter on modern music, stating his belief that the use of social networks takes any mystique away from musicians.
“It dilutes the whole thing in a way, and I don’t know if it’ll ever be the same again where there were people like David Bowie, who really knew anything about David Bowie?” He was able to craft this mysterious image that wasn’t really him but this character (Ziggy Stardust) he created,” he remarked.
