James Blake will not now be in the US next month for a run of live dates as he intends on visiting the Mercury Prize ceremony in London instead.

Blake’s second album ‘Overgrown‘ in turn handed him a second Mercury nomination when this year’s shortlist was made public last week. And with the prize-giving being held on October 30th, Blake has explained a change in plans to fans on Facebook.

“Due to being nominated (and therefore having to attend) the Mercury Music Awards in London I’m afraid we’ve had to postpone the following gigs from the Oct/Nov US Tour,” his post reads. “The dates will be rescheduled for early next year, sincere apologies to those who bought tickets. Refunds are available and existing tickets are valid for the rescheduled dates TBA.”

The producer and songwriter does have time to squeeze in a UK tour however, and performs the opening show tomorrow night (September 20th) in Manchester.
