Arctic Monkeys, Franz Ferdinand and Black Sabbath are among the bands to have picked up nominations in the specialist categories for this year’s MTV Europe Music Awards, which will take place at the Ziggo Dome in Amsterdam on November 10th.
Arctic Monkeys and Franz Ferdinand are up for the Best Alternative gong along with Fall Out Boy, Paramore and Thirty Seconds To Mars, while Black Sabbath are nominated for Best Rock, where they go up against Green Day, Kings Of Leon, Queens Of The Stone Age and The Killers.
Elsewhere, Bastille have received a mention in the Best New section, while Green Day also have a nomination for Best Live.
