Arctic Monkeys are back inside the Top 10 on the US charts for the first time in over six years.

The band’s latest studio LP ‘AM‘ has shifted 42,000 copies during its first week on sale, enough for the number six slot on the Billboard 200 and their best commercial performance state-side since 2007’s ‘Favourite Worst Nightmare‘.

‘AM’ has proved to be a genuine hit in the UK, and became one of the fastest selling records of the year when it was released earlier this month. As the group’s fifth number one album, it also handed the Arctic Monkeys the record for the most consecutive chart-topping releases to be issued through an independent label.

“‘AM’ is a near flawless, brazen, yet reflective dancefloor filling triumph of an album,” Live4ever’s review reads. “A defiantly risk taking chemical blend in the myriad of past and contemporary genres on offer produces thrilling results, continuing the trend with each passing record of subtle changes to maintain the listener’s interest.”
