In a lengthy update to fans on Facebook, Carl Barat has revealed he is close to completing work on a second solo album.
When telling his Facebook followers that he is ‘finalising artwork’ and ‘listening to mixes and becoming increasingly excited’, Barat explains:
“I’ve been working on this new album, you see. For the last month, when not touring, I’ve worked every hour god sent, in the dust bowl of the San Fernando valley with the excellent Mr Joby Ford on my new album, with which I am so far, delighted. It would seem that my relationship with my guitar is all patched up and further reinforced like what tends to happen with broken bones.”
Carl Barat’s debut solo record arrived in the autumn of 2010, not long after he had reunited with The Libertines for a series of festival shows and headline gigs, led by a bill-topping appearance at that year’s Reading/Leeds event.
