Glastonbury organiser Michael Eavis believes David Bowie ‘could come back’ to the festival again following his musical comeback earlier this year.

One of the earliest bookings way back in 1971, Bowie then returned to Worthy Farm in 2000 for an appearance which has gone on to become one of Glastonbury’s most celebrated headline performances.

He is now being tipped as a likely candidate to fill one of the three headline spots for next year and, when speaking to the Central Somerset Gazette, Michael Eavis has added weight to those rumours.

“The younger ones sort out most of the music, but I like to book the headline names,” he said. “I can’t tell you at the moment who that will be as we’re still talking to people. David’s done it a couple of times before but I’m sure he could come back again.”

While the likes of Bowie, The Stone Roses and Fleetwood Mac are being strongly suggested for 2014, bookmakers William Hill recently made Kasabian, Foo Fighters and Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds as its favourites for the tip of the Pyramid Stage next year.
