American actor, musician and former SNL member Fred Armisen has signed up to direct a forthcoming Kings Of Leon concert webcast, according to the AP.
Armisen will helm the footage during Kings Of Leon’s appearance at the Shepherds Bush Empire in London on August 9th, which is to be streamed on Vevo and YouTube as part of the American Express Unstaged series.
The relatively small London gig acts as a warm-up for the Followill clan’s UK outdoor shows in Belfast and Glasgow next month, while they also have headline appearances at the V Festival due on August 17th and 18th.
Kings Of Leon issue their ‘Mechanical Bull‘ album on September 23rd, an LP which guitarist Matthew recently told BBC DJ Zane Lowe was recorded as the group made a conscious effort to ‘have fun’ in the studio.
“Us being able to take a break, we kind of got to fall back in love with what we loved about it in the first place, which was picking up your instruments and playing and smiling onstage and actually having fun, and not feeling like it’s a job,” he remarked.
