The Whigs return in July with their new album ‘Enjoy The Company‘, it has been announced.

“We went out there to record without any distractions,” bass player Timothy Deaux says of the Dreamland Studios in Woodstock, New York where the album was recorded with veteran alternative rock producer John Agnello, who has previously worked with Sonic Youth and Dinosaur Jr. amongst others.

“There were no girlfriends there, no bars to go out to. It was just us and the music. Our last album focused on some pretty dark themes and with this one I think there’s a new found sense of optimism and purpose. We didn’t make a sugary record, but I think we are honestly feeling good about the band and our lives and it comes across in the sound.”

‘Enjoy The Company’ is out on July 29th through New West Records. The video for first single ‘Staying Alive‘ has been uploaded to YouTube and can be viewed below.
