There can’t be many firsts left to tick off in Sir Paul McCartney‘s long career, but it’s probably safe to say introducing a grasshopper to his audience during ‘Hey Jude‘ is something which even Macca hasn’t experienced before.

The incident occurred after a swarm of the insects made their presence felt late on in McCartney’s concert at the Serra Dourada Stadium in Brazil last Monday (May 6th). The former Beatles legend presented one of the creatures, christened ‘Harold’, to his 47,000 strong crowd, and added ‘it certainly is now’ to the ‘Hey Jude’ lyric ‘the movement you need is on your shoulder’ as he performed the track.

Brazil has been the opening location for Paul McCartney’s Out There! world tour, which is set to visit six other countries, including the United States and Italy, during the coming weeks.

A handful of Beatles tracks previously never performed live have been added to his setlist, including ‘Being For The Benefit Of Mr. Kite‘ and ‘All Together Now‘.
