Franz Ferdinand have confirmed the details of their fourth studio album, the long awaited follow-up to 2009’s ‘Tonight: Franz Ferdinand‘.

The album’s creation was an international affair, with recording taking place at band members Alex Kapranos and Nick McCarthy‘s own studios in Scotland and London, as well as various locations in Oslo and Stockholm.

Alex Kapranos has previously described the record – entitled ‘Right Thoughts, Right Words, Right Action‘ – as, ‘The idea of the cynic’s search for optimism and the sceptic’s search for a manual crop up here and there’.

“I’ve always liked the lead character in Alasdair Gray’s Lanark growing the hard scales to defend the soft inner-self from the world,” he told Mojo. “Socially awkward asthmatic with a self-consuming imagination. My 19-year-old self was electrified. Maybe the album is about how to shed those scales.”

‘Right Thoughts, Right Words, Right Action’ tracklist:

‘Right Action’
‘Evil Eye’
‘Love Illumination’
‘Stand On The Horizon’
‘Fresh Strawberries’
‘Bullet’
‘Treason! Animals.’
‘The Universe Expanded’
‘Brief Encounters’
‘Goodbye Lovers & Friends’
