Mick Taylor hopeful of joining Rolling Stones on Glasto’s Pyramid Stage

Ex Stones guitarist Mick Taylor says he is hopeful he’ll be able to play some tunes with The Rolling Stones when they headline Glastonbury in June the NME reports. The 64 year old Taylor played with the group from 1969 through 1974 and appeared on some of their classic albums including Let It Bleed, Sticky Fingers and Exile on Main St.

Taylor is not completely sure the band will be able to accommodate him and find room for him during their set though: “Having said that, the last time I saw them play live from the crowd was at Wembley Stadium six or seven years ago and to me it seemed that they hardly played anything from the ’70s or indeed the ’60s.”

Talking to The Sun about the Somerset festival, Taylor explained that playing with Mick Jagger “would be great”, adding: “I really didn’t think they’d be touring again. But I hoped they’d want to re-create some of the music from my days in the band. It would be a big noise, I tell you.”

Taylor last shared the stage with his former band mates at the end of 2012 in London when group welcomed a number of guest stars on stage. The Stones will headline the Pyramid Stage on Saturday night of the festival on a bill which also includes headliners Arctic Monkeys and Mumford & Sons.
