Primal Scream have announced the first single proper to be taken from their new album ‘More Light‘ is entitled ‘It’s Alright, It’s OK‘.
The track will be released through the band’s own Ignition Records on May 6th, and follows the unveiling of the epic nine minute album opener ‘2013‘ late last month. Again, the single has been written by Bobby Gillespie and Andrew Innes, and produced by David Holmes.
Simone Butler is now on board with Primal Scream following Mani‘s return to the Stone Roses for an album which Bobby Gillespie has previously said will portray a ‘modern rock n roll sound’.
“It’s a rock’n’roll record, but modern rock’n’roll. Pretty psychedelic rock, it’s kind of guitar-driven but we use guitars in an orchestral way, not in the normal way people make rock records,” he told Q last year.
“I think we do it in a more interesting way. We weave the guitars in with electronics and other acoustic instruments to make the core sound.”
