Mumford & Sons and Elton John will lead a tribute to the late Band drummer Levon Helm at the Grammy Awards later this month.

Alabama Shakes singer Brittany Howard, Mavis Staples and Zac Brown have also signed up for the tribute, which is being directed T Bone Burnett.

Levon Helm passed away in April last year after a long battle with cancer, when countless tributes were paid by the musical world after a short statement was released which read:

“Levon Helm passed peacefully this afternoon. He was surrounded by family, friends and band mates and will be remembered by all he touched as a brilliant musician and a beautiful soul.”

The 55th annual Grammy Awards are due to take place at the Staples Center in Los Angeles on February 10th. Mumford & Sons have interest in six categories, including the coveted Album Of The Year prize where they face competition from The Black Keys, Fun, Frank Ocean and Jack White.
