David Bowie has drip-fed some more information on his imminent comeback album ‘The Next Day‘.

Already confirmed to be set for release on March 11th, it has now been revealed the album will be available on CD, digital and vinyl formats, while a deluxe edition comprises three bonus tracks. In addition, a Japanese version will have four additional songs.

Three new tracks will feature on the forthcoming BBC documentary film Five Years, which aims to tell the story of Bowie’s long, varied career by focusing on five pivotal years in his life – 1971, 1975, 1977, 1980 and 1983.

“This is a project that has been in development for more than a decade, in fact since Bowie and I worked together in 2001 on a film for the BBC Omnibus strand,” director Francis Whately has said.

“This year, 2013, is shaping up to be the year of David Bowie, and now is the perfect moment for this feature-length film devoted to this extraordinary artist.”

The film will air on the BBC in May.
