The Rolling Stones have brought months of speculation to an end by officially confirming two London concerts for next month.

The legendary band are celebrating their 50th anniversary this year, and will finally embark on a ’50 Years and Counting’ tour to mark the occasion, with the first dates being rubber-stamped for the London O2 Arena on November 25th and 29th. Shows in New York are widely expected to follow after also being strongly rumoured during recent weeks.

The gigs will be the Stones’ first official live engagements since the completion of their record breaking Bigger Bang tour in August 2007.

In addition, their first taste of new material for seven years, the single ‘Doom and Gloom‘, was unveiled last week as part of the promotional campaign for the upcoming greatest hits collection ‘GRRR!‘. Live4ever’s review of the track, which was described as having a “… crunching guitar riff that sits comfortably amongst their back catalogue”, can be read here.
