“A song full of hope, fantasy and desires, ‘Bedroom Hero’ the new single from British songwriter Liz Lawrence encapsulates the bedroom songwriter: their hopes, fears, victories and demise, looking out to the world beyond the bedroom. The song builds endearingly from a simple opening melody with Lawrence’s instantly gratifying soaring vocals and gentle acoustic guitar into the fully realized bedroom songwriter vision with a full production replete with perfect harmonies, strings, piano, marching drums and brass section calling out, taking the listener into a timeless daydream.”

“Drawing influence from the likes of Grizzly Bear, Efterklang and Sufjan Stevens, Among Brothers mix evocative beats, percussive flourishes and gang harmonies to create a vibrant pop style anchored by evocative themes. The titles to both songs on their Too Pure-sponsored release were drawn from the novel ‘We’ by Zamyatin. With this in mind, the band have embarked upon a ‘concept single’ with a narrative theme running through the lyrics of both songs. Following the story of a boy falling in love with a cult member, the lyrics reveal his descent into her world in order to get closer to her.”

Bromheads (previously Bromheads Jacket) are a Sheffield garage duo: Tim Hampton (lead vocal / electric guitar) and Dan Potter (drums). After releasing 12 free download singles this is now their official “Holding The Gun” EP release (29th October). The EP is a fast, furious, and energetic offering demonstrating that this is a duo that can absolutely make amazing noise.”

“UK audiences caught their first glimpse of Canada’s Trust earlier this year, with a slew of highly anticipated dates in May showcasing the brutal beauty of lynchpin Robert Alfons’ particular strain of pop – black as night yet coolly alluring and darkly compelling; a pop hit factory buried in the mud. Now comes the full unveiling of that singular vision, in the form of the debut LP ‘TRST’, released October 23rd on Arts and Crafts/ PIAS. 11 tales of lust, wax and erotomania, carried along on a dense, black vapour of speed, space and tears.”

Sheppard, comprised of siblings, George, Amy and Emma Sheppard, and friends Jay Bovino, Michael Butler and Jared Tredley, have recently released their energetic and colorful debut EP this August. The Australian based band performed their first two singles off the EP, ‘Let Me Down Easy’ and ‘Flying Away’ for Steve Madden Music. SMM has worked with some of music’s hottest artists to bring you content you couldn’t find anywhere else, as well as brings emerging artists to the forefront, showcasing the buzziest, most exciting talent before they hit it big, like Lady GaGa, Katy Perry, and Neon Trees, to name a few.”

“After a spring which saw them tipped by Vice, NME, Clash and This is Fake DIY, Ninetails return with ‘Slept But Did Not Sleep’, the much anticipated follow up to their ‘Ghost Ride the Whip’ EP. Combining hyperrealistic pop with sleek maximalist production, the Liverpool four piece explore euphoria, lamentation and lucidity on this song cycle melodrama. Throughout, moody minimalism and loop-based composition provide an Eno-like back drop for vocals inspired by sunshine pop, r’n’b and dramatic choral harmony.”

Pearl and the Beard is a stirring mixture of three voices, one cello, one guitar, one glockenspiel, one melodica, several drums, ninety-six teeth, and one soul. Following the release of the their sophomore album Killing The Darlings, the band has toured tirelessly: loving to perform live and connect personally with fans. Pearl and the Beard’s energized performance and lush arrangements have been captivating audiences since forming in 2008.”

“One of the most exciting bands to emerge from the North of England’s finest new music scene are set to unleash their unforgettably infectious debut EP on November 19th. Newcastle’s Shields are proud to announce their ‘Kaleidoscope’ EP, to be released as a free download from their official website. A cavalcade of shimmering synths and glacial riffs, the EP demonstrates a level of instrumentation rarely seen in acts with such a keen eye for pop song craft. The limited edition CD version and extended iTunes download of the EP also feature the bands incredible re-imagining of SBTRKT’s ‘Pharaohs’ as a bonus track.”

The Rebel Light are getting set to release debut EP in a few weeks, recorded and mixed by the band themselves. The DIY indie spirit was kept alive and recording costs down by recording the vocals in their bathroom and the drums in a wood shed! ‘Goodbye Serenade’ is a bit of an inspirational trip down memory lane…celebrating every milestone of the 20th century onwards, from the first man on the moon to the birth of Facebook. The song has a quirky vibe with piano, trumpet and the xylophone.”
