Kings Of Leon will join Depeche Mode at the Optimus Alive festival in Portugal next year.

With work on a new album apparently progressing nicely, the US heavyweights have been confirmed as the second headliners for the event on July 14th 2013 – Depeche Mode are due to top the bill a day earlier.

The festival takes place annually in Oeiras, and will next be held between July 12th-14th with tickets costing around £97 for a weekend’s camping. Last year, an impressive line-up included performances from The Stone Roses, The Cure and Radiohead amongst others.

Kings Of Leon bassist Jared Followill recently gave a positive update on the group’s current recording sessions, revealing work on the follow-up to ‘Come Around Sundown‘ is ‘coming along pretty quickly’.

“We are in the writing process right now and it’s coming along pretty quickly,” he told BBC 6Music. “We’ll definitely get into the studio but you know we have no plans of finishing it this year but definitely early next year, so I think people should expect something from us sooner rather than later.”
