Kasabian have been unveiled as headliners for the 2013 Snowbombing festival, which will take place in Mayrhoffen, Austria in April next year.

In addition to the headline spot, the Leicester band will also perform an intimate gig 6,000 feet up a mountain range for an exclusive group of guests.

Kasabian join the likes of Example, Katy B and Ms. Dynamite at the event.

“One of the world’s best live bands playing in a small Austrian village is what Snowbombing is all about; delivering a unique, intimate festival experience in amazing surroundings and venues,” Snowbombing founder Gareth Cooper has said.

The news confirms Kasabian’s first festival commitments for 2013 after a busy season this year which saw them top the bills at Reading/Leeds and T In The Park amongst others as they took their UK number one album ‘Velociraptor!‘ around the muddy fields of Europe during the summer.

The group recently auctioned off a signed Leeds Festival promo board to raise money for the Martin House Children’s Hospice.
