Huey Morgan covers Bob Dylan, The Rolling Stones as solo album is released

hueymorganFun Lovin’ Criminal and BBC DJ Huey Morgan is to unveil a series of covers throughout this week to celebrate the release of his new solo album ‘Say It To My Face‘.

The record sees Morgan joining forces with the New Yorkers, who count Blind Boys member Pete Levin and Chris Scianni amongst their number, and has been co-produced by Morgan together with his Fun Lovin Criminals cohort Tim Latham.

Beginning yesterday with a version of Bob Dylan‘s ‘Don’t Think Twice It’s Alright‘, covers of The Clash, The Rolling Stones, Tommy James & The Shondells and Richard Rodgers & Lorenz Hart will go live on Huey’s YouTube page during the course of this week.

“This Dylan track was written in ’62 and though it’s been covered by a lot of other artists I had to cover it myself,” Morgan has said of the first cover. “It’s the best break-up song I’ve ever heard. To the point, with bitterness and humor side by side.”

Huey and the New Yorkers will play their maiden UK gig on November 7th at the Bush Hall, London, while all proceeds from sales of the album are to be donated to a selection of Morgan’s favourite War Veterans charities.

“Even if you don’t like the record, you’ll be doing something good for all the soldiers that are out there fighting to keep us safe,” he continued. “The CD makes a great coaster too as it’s a picture of me taken by the amazing photographer Danny Clinch.”
