Dry The River will release a reworked, acoustic version of their 2012 debut album later this year.

Shallow Bed‘ received a fair degree of critical praise upon its release in March, when it also troubled the UK Top 40. Subsequently, the record had been widely expected to land a 2012 Mercury Music Prize nomination, but in the end missed out on a place when the final list was unveiled last month.

The acoustic edition of ‘Shallow Bed’ will be released digitally on December 17th, and follows news that the band plan to begin work on a brand new album that month, with Scott Miller recently telling BBC Newsbeat:

“We’re really excited to start working on something new. The songs on the first album have been with us for two to three years now. We’re keeping it under wraps at the moment but there’s some new stuff cooking.”

As previously reported on Live4ever, Dry The River are about to launch a headline tour of the UK at the Cambridge Junction tonight (October 16th).
