Manic Street Preachers have confirmed plans to re-release their 1992 debut album ‘Generation Terrorists‘ later this year as the record’s 20th anniversary approaches.

Looking back on the album in this week’s NME, Manics bass player Nicky Wire has described the record as ‘sounding young’ and portraying a band whose ambitions were ‘ludicrous’.

“The album and the demos sound young, our ambitions sound ludicrous and considering the polemic portrayed, we were actually really fucking funny,” he has said.

“A lot of people are attached to the darkness of ‘The Holy Bible’ or the bigness of ‘Everything Must Go’ and ‘Tolerate’ but for some, that initial colourful burst of the glamorous punk band meant more than any other version.”

The double LP will be re-released on November 5th, and is to come in five new formats. These will include a download version, as well as two special editions that will include unheard songs and demos, rare contemporary film footage and artwork.
