Bloc Party have announced details of a hastily arranged free show in London as their comeback album ‘Four‘ heads for number one on the UK Album Chart.

Early midweek figures have the record on course to land Bloc Party their first UK chart topper, and to celebrate the quartet have tweeted news of a one-off gig at the Birthdays venue in the Dalston area of London tomorrow (August 22nd).

“We just found out we are Number 1 on the midweek chart,” the tweet reads. “We want to celebrate! Anyone up for a gig in London tomorrow night? Birthdays! London N16! Tomo! Free and first come first serve. 7:30 doors. 8:30 show.”

‘Four’ marks Bloc Party’s return from a lengthy hiatus, during which time frontman Kele Okereke embarked on his own solo project, and is their first full length record since 2008’s ‘Intimacy‘. It is also the band’s debut on their new Frenchkiss Records home.

The new LP was preceded last month by the single ‘Octopus‘.
