The Maccabees have enlisted the help of Microsoft’s Kinect facility to film a 3D music video entitled The Maccabees (In The Dark).

The band performed a short, three-song set in front of ten Kinect cameras as part of VEVO’s Presents series at a secret warehouse location in Bow, East London, which will enable directors Jamie Roberts and Will Hanke to build a 3D model of the performance.

“It was a pleasure working with VEVO, creating what will hopefully prove to be a really innovative and enjoyable live recording,” Maccabees frontman Orlando Weeks has said of the shoot, while VEVO content and programming director Tom Connaughton hailed the project as something that has ‘never attempted before’.

The Maccabees released their third album ‘Given To The Wild‘ earlier this year, and bucked the current trend of commercial struggles for guitar bands by enjoying the highest chart entry of their career to date when the LP landed at #4 on the UK Album Chart in January.
