Sigur Ros beat Public Image Ltd. to top spot on UK Record Store Chart

Sigur Ros‘ ‘Valtari‘ has beaten Public Image Ltd‘s comeback album ‘This Is PiL‘ to the number one spot on this week’s UK Record Store Album Chart.

The Icelandic band, who also entered the top 10 on the main UK rundown yesterday, displace last week’s number one, Saint Etienne‘s ‘Words and Music’, which drops to #14 on the chart which is compiled entirely from sales registered at the UK’s independent record shops.
