Keith Richards has said ‘the door is always open’ for Jack White to follow up his as-yet-unreleased collaboration with the legendary guitarist in 2009 by producing new Rolling Stones material.

Speaking to Rolling Stone, Richards admitted recording new tracks is very much in mind as he aims to get the Stones back in action as part of the celebrations to mark their 50th anniversary, and added Jack White producing the new material is a ‘possibility’.

“I’d love to get some tracks down and see what songs we’ve got,” Richards told Rolling Stone. “And that goes along with part of getting the band back together and getting things moving. So I’d love to cut some tracks, yeah.”

“That’s always a possibility, the door is wide open,” he added when asked about Jack White getting involved.

A number of events are being organised to mark The Rolling Stones’ 50th year together as a band, including a new film and photo exhibition, but as yet Richards’ unwavering attempts to get the group back out on stage has failed to result in any official details being confirmed.
