The first track released from the LP, ‘Who‘, can be heard below via YouTube and is available to download for free at lovethisgiant.com.
The duo will issue ‘Love This Giant‘ through 4AD via Byrne’s own Todo Mundo label on September 10th having spent the last two years recording the 10-track album in Hoboken, New Jersey.
They fully collaborated on eight of the songs, and wrote one track each separately. The pair are also planning on touring the record this autumn.
“We’ll be doing these songs and a bunch of songs that we suspect people will know, with a group that includes eight brass players, a keyboardist and a drummer,” David Byrne has said of those touring plans.
The album’s genesis can be traced back to a chance meeting between the pair backstage at the Dark Was The Night benefit concert for the Red Hot Organisation charity back in May 2009.
