Syd Arthur have finally revealed the video for their new single Edge of The Earth, the first single to be taken from their forthcoming album On An On, released July 2nd. Greatly inspired by the sonic pioneers of the late 60s and early 70s, Syd Arthur have put together an album that not only revels in the music of decades long past but matches the contemporary psychedelic sounds of like Wolf People, Black Mountain and Tame Impala.”

“A sincere and beguiling collection of songs with lyrical themes of death, religion and the afterlife. From the eerie ‘Ghost In Your Bedroom’ to the skin tingling euphoria of lead track ‘Burial’, Escapists are rapidly establishing themselves as a future force of alt-indie. Debut single ‘Post Gospel Blues’ was self-released at the end of 2011 and made the XFM Playlist, John Kennedy’s Record Of The Week plus a session. Support also came from key tastemakers such as Huw Stephens on Radio 1, Tom Robinson on 6 Music and spot plays across Q Radio.”

Gabriel Bruce is back with the two part EP ‘Dark Lights, Shine Loud’ / A Brief And Selfish Lover’. It’s the follow up to his astonishing debut 7”, ‘Sleep Paralysis’. ‘Dark Lights, Shine loud’ is a brilliant, thumping rock song, driven by relentless drums and sharp, incendiary guitars with blasts of brass, all following Gabriel’s epic vocal. Tobacco-worn, it belies his 21 years and is a startling, snarling instrument.”

“Run, whose guitar-led, sun kissed vibes are indicative of the Oxford quartet’s latest album, is the second single from Point To Go and Jonquil will be supporting the release with a run of nationwide gigs kicking off in May. Putting their own special stamp on the single will be Filthy Dukes, Pocket House, Souldrop and RxGibbs. The video features an ethereal dreamworld of fantasy and imaginings that are both alluring and unsettling in its beauty.”

“Fans of The Brute Chorus will be delighted to learn that the band are returning to London for a May 29th gig at the new Sailor Jerry music venue Hotel Street in Soho. On stage for 9.30pm, The Brute Chorus will be supported by Amber States. This is The Brute Chorus’ first London headline of 2012, coming after a grueling touring schedule and a year of firsts which saw The Brute Chorus make their 1st American tour and 1st SXSW appearances as well as their Shepherd’s Bush Empire debut gig during the recent UK O2 Academy tour with Tribes and Sharks. May 29th affords a first chance for regulars to the Brute’s exciting live shows to hear some of the new material that The Brutes have found time to pen whilst busying away.”

“Formed in Patchogue, New York in the summer of 2008, The Given Motion was a distant concept preceded by an undeniable energy and creative force, one that has sustained the band through triumph and hardship to their 1st record, Human Dictionary which is available on One Alliance Records in April 2012.”

Caged Animals‘ This Summer EP was recorded contemporaneously with the band’s Autumn 2011 debut, Eat Their Own. Where Eat Their Own dealt liberally in off-kilter but warmhearted reinterpretations of classic pop structures, This Summer lends its glare to a more Gothic July.”

PUJOL‘s debut LP, UNITED STATES OF BEING, is out next month, and unsurprisingly, the band has delivered yet another perfect summertime jam. “Providence”, the catchy new single off the record, captures Nashville’s DIY poet at his finest. UNITED STATES OF BEING reaches a new level of lyrical genius, as Daniel Pujol explores the trials and tribulations of being in your twenties.”

“A-Side ‘Smoking like the Barrel of a Gun’ sees Candice Gordon switch seamlessly between purrs and caterwauls – as feedbacking guitars and pounding drums produce a sweetly seductive cacophony. It’s an arresting first statement from a fresh songwriter and one that is perfectly complimented by the single’s second track ‘I Haven’t Eaten in Days’ – a bluesy crooner richly endowed with soul. Listening, one can almost imagine the sultry Gordon, cutting through the thick smoke of almost any downtown jazz club.”
