Franz Ferdinand debut new songs in Ireland

Franz Ferdinand debuted four new songs over the weekend during a low-key gig in Ireland.

The Scottish band unveiled the new tracks ‘Right Thoughts‘, ‘Brief Encounters‘, ‘Fresh Strawberries‘ and ‘Trees and Animals‘ at the show in Limerick, a selection of which can be heard below.

The set included tracks from throughout Franz Ferdinand’s near ten year career, with established hits such as ‘Take Me Out’, ‘Michael‘ and ‘Do You Want To?’ aired along side a cover of Donna Summer‘s ‘I Feel Love‘.

As Franz Ferdinand continue work on the follow-up to 2009’s ‘Tonight: Franz Ferdinand‘, the group will embark on a series of festival dates across Europe this summer, which will take in appearances at the Osheaga, Open’er and Field Day events amongst others.
