Rolling Stones anniversary tour delayed until 2013

rollingstones1Rolling Stones guitarist Keith Richards has said the veteran band are now aiming to get out on the road in 2013, after deciding the group are not ready to celebrate their 50th anniversary with a special tour just yet.

“Basically, we’re just not ready,” he told Rolling Stone. “Instead, 2013 is the new goal. “I have a feeling that’s more realistic.”

Richards has been the main driving force behind The Rolling Stones’ planned return to mark their 50th year, galvanising his bandmates into action during the latter half of 2011 with the hopes of a first series of live shows since the conclusion of their Bigger Bang world jaunt in in 2007.

However, despite admitting defeat in getting something done this year, Richards has revealed the Stones are also ready to record new material when the time is right. “We’ll just get the boys back together again then and maybe cut a side,” he continued. “I’ve got plenty in the locker here, but it’s not on tape.”

A new photographic autobiography entitled ‘Rolling Stones: 50′, which has been curated by The Rolling Stones and will comprise 700 snaps, is due for release on July 12th.
