Johnny Depp collaborates with Marilyn Manson on ‘Born Villain’ album

marilynmansonHollywood star Johnny Depp has teamed up with Marilyn Manson to cover Carly Simon‘s 1972 single ‘You’re So Vain‘.

The track will appear as a bonus track on Marilyn Manson’s new album ‘Born Villain‘, which is due for release on May 1st, and sees Johnny Depp taking up both guitar and drum duties, while his son Jack has also played on the song.

In telling MTV News he and Depp had wanted to pick ‘a cover of a song which we thought was ironic for each other’, Manson added: “He played drums and lead guitar, and I played guitar and sang. It’s a bonus track on my new record and the video will probably be us looking at each other in a mirror.”

The pair became firm friends when they met on the set of the TV series Jump Street after Manson had appeared on the show as an extra. Previously, Marilyn Manson provided a remix of ‘The Nobodies‘ to Depp’s 2001 movie From Hell.
