Hamish Rosser has joined Wolfmother after leaving fellow Aussie rockers The Vines last year.

With The Vines reverting back to their original three-piece line-up, the drummer left the band along with guitarist Ryan Griffiths in November 2011. And now, Rosser is starting a new life in Wolfmother, and has told The Daily Telegraph he is looking forward to becoming a part of the band. “I’m stoked,” he said. “These songs are fun to play – they’re right up my alley because it’s my style of music, because heavy rock is where I come from.”

Rosser is set to make his bow with Wolfmother tomorrow night (March 17th), when they open for Lenny Kravitz on the axeman’s Australian tour. They will then move on to Europe this summer for a series of festival appearances, including a stop at Sonisphere where they are due to play the event’s Apollo Stage along with Kiss, Within Temptation and Black Stone Cherry.
