The Black Keys‘ frontman Dan Auerbach has criticised the Grammy Awards for ignoring a large section of US music.
Quoted in The Sun newspaper, Auerbach spoke of the large amount of ‘good music’ created in the States, a significant proportion of which he claims goes un-recognised by the annual awards.
“There’s so much good music in the US and there is just a small section that gets recognized at the Grammys,” Auerbach said. “I don’t have any patience and I can’t bullshit myself by sitting through a Justin Bieber song. I am not interested in that shit. I am an adult and really I don’t know who the fuck listens to Justin Bieber.”
In the Rock section of last night’s Grammys, US band the Foo Fighters were the big winners, landing five awards in the genre as their 2011 ‘Wasting Light‘ dominated proceedings. Amongst the prizes won by Dave Grohl and co. were Best Rock Album and Best Rock Song.
Oh someone tell the Black Keys to shut the hell up. Don’t make comments on things you know nothing about… was Justin Bieber even mentioned at the Grammys? If only they would stop trying to ‘shake up’ the music industry with their pathetic comments. It’s not like any of their music is remotely original at all whatsoever… so why don’t they just leave it be and stick to being a decent popular rock band. We really don’t need to hear their dumbass comments once a week.
youre a f….n maroon.
