‘Rolling Stones on the verge of touring’, reveals Ronnie Wood

ronniewood1Rolling Stones guitarist Ronnie Wood has revealed the legendary band are ‘on the verge of touring’ as they move into their 50th year.

In recent months, Keith Richards has made no secret of his desire to get back out on the road in 2012 to celebrate the group’s Golden anniversary, and now Ronnie Wood has told the Radio Times those plans are close to being finalised.

“Be lovely, wouldn’t it? That’s what we’re on the verge of,” Wood remarked on the chances of a tour. “I dunno what the hell is gonna happen yet but we all feel we owe it to ourselves and to the people to do something.”

“Basically, get the boys feeling comfortable with each other, ’cause we’re all ready to go individually. It’s just a matter of tying up loose ends and coming together as a unit.”

Last November, Richards put out an invitation to all surviving Stones members to join him in the rehearsal studios with a view to live touring this year, while drummer Charlie Watts later admitted an anniversary tour for the band would be ‘lovely’.
