New Order have added an extra two dates to their forthcoming UK tour.

The band will now visit Edinburgh’s Usher Hall on May 6th and Newcastle’s O2 Academy on May 8th in addition to other previously confirmed shows which include stops at the Manchester Apollo on April 26th, the Birmingham Ballroom on April 29th, the Brixton Academy on May 2nd and the Glasgow Academy on May 5th.

New Order have also recently outlined plans for a series of outdoor UK appearances later this year, the highlights of which are likely to be a headline date at Bestival and a gig with Blur at London’s Hyde Park to celebrate the end of the London Olympics.

After initially reuniting without Peter Hook last year, New Order have pressed on in the face of criticism from their estranged bass player, who on first responding to the news of their reformation without him described it as being ‘like Sooty without Sweep’.
