The Gaslight Anthem begin recording new album

thegaslightanthemThe Gaslight Anthem are back in the studio recording their fourth album, and have been giving fans regular updates via Twitter over the course of the past few days.

Earlier this month, the band wrote on their official Twitter feed that they were ‘Heading to record in Nashville’, and later confirmed principal recording would start on January 23rd after tweeting ‘Pre Production done – tomorrow we press record’.

Last year, frontman Brian Fallon told Billboard The Gaslight Anthem’s new material was sounding ‘pretty aggressive’, adding: “We’re making demos and our goal is 25 of them, and we’ve got ten. The songs that are fast, they’re a lot faster. It’s definitely pretty personal and pretty aggressive right now.”

A true word-of-mouth success story, The Gaslight Anthem have built up a loyal fanbase since the release of debut album ‘Sink Or Swim‘ in 2007. Their most recent record, 2010’s ‘American Slang‘, was another winning slice of heartland rock and proved to one of that year’s highest acclaimed LPs.
