Red Hot Chili Peppers forced to postpone US tour dates

The Red Hot Chili Peppers have postponed a series of US tour dates due to an injury suffered by frontman Anthony Kiedis.

Kiedis was recently forced to go under the surgeon’s knife to remove a crushed sesamoid bone and correct a detached flexor tendon in his foot, meaning dates which were set to begin next week have now been put back to April.

Red Hot Chili Peppers’ ambitious UK and Ireland outdoor tour, kicking off in June, is unaffected by the injury and re-scheduled dates, and will get underway as planned on June 23rd at the prestigious Knebworth Park. The band will then move on to Sunderland’s Stadium Of Light a day later, before travelling across the Irish Sea for a show at Dublin’s Croke Park on June 26th, where support will be provided by Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds.

The Californian band released the album ‘I’m With You‘, their first with new guitarist Josh Klinghoffer, in August last year.
