Primal Scream wave goodbye to Mani at New Year’s gig

Primal Scream said goodbye to bass player Mani as they saw in 2012 with a gig at Edinburgh’s annual Hogmanay bash.

Mani is now due to link up with The Stone Roses as the reunited band prepare for a busy year, and jokingly wiped away a tear as he let the stage following the conclusion of his final performance with Primal Scream for the foreseeable future.

The Scottish group aired a career-spanning set at the New Year’s party, dipping into their 1991 classic ‘Screamadelica‘ with tracks such as ‘Movin On Up‘ and ‘Loaded‘, while also playing newer material including the 2006 single ‘Country Girl‘.

With Mani now able to fully concentrate on the Roses, preparations will be well under way for their ever-expanding 2012 reunion tour, which is due to feature three massive outdoor hometown shows at Manchester’s Heaton Park next June.
