Lana Del Rey, whose single ‘Video Games‘ has already achieved significant airplay across Europe over recent months, has been named on MTV‘s annual Brand New For… rundown, which lists nine acts tipped by the network to achieve big things next year.
Seven of the nine acts named are based in London, with the likes of King Charles and Charli XCX also included on the shortlist.
On January 8th, a new name will be added to the list when the winner of an ongoing unsigned competition is announced. The overall winner will be unveiled on February 1st.
Previous winners of the Brand New award include Lady Gaga, Friendly Fires and White Lies, while Adele, whose 2011 album ‘21‘ has become one of the true independent success stories of recent years, has also taken home the gong in the past.
