In addition to previously announced dates in Glasgow, Newcastle, London, Birmingham and Manchester, The Maccabees will now open the tour on January 21st at the Sheffield Leadmill.
Earlier this month, the band offered fans the first taster from ‘Given To The Wild‘ when ‘Pelican‘ was released to online sites such as YouTube.
“We’ve grown up as people and changed as a band,” Felix White has said. “We’ve learned for the first time what we really wanted The Maccabees to sound like on record It’s taken us three albums but we finally achieved that. We’ve discovered what we’re truly capable of and that feels really exciting.”
That new, fuller sound is immediately apparent on ‘Pelican’, and offers an intriguing glimpse of its parent record.
