Coldplay frontman Chris Martin has said he has no plans to pursue a solo career at any point in the future, because he believes it would be ‘terrible’.

“I’d just be terrible,” he told Q Magazine. “I don’t think I could even get a gig in Butlins – and I’ve been to Butlins. I think me and my keyboard would be outside Woolworths most days, getting shouted at.”

Meanwhile, the band’s bass player Guy Berryman has said he is hoping to do more work as a producer, saying he is ‘never happier’ than when working in the studio – be it with Coldplay or another band.

“I’m never happier than when I’m being creative, whether that’s with Coldplay or other artists,” he is quoted as saying in the Daily Star. “I just love being in the studio.”

“I don’t concentrate on technical things like where a microphone is placed and things like that. As a producer, I try to keep the initial feeling from when I first heard a song and make sure we do what were initially aiming for.”

Coldplay will headline a charity gig in London, in aid of Kids Company, on December 10th.
