This Is England director Shane Meadows could be ready to document The Stone Roses‘ forthcoming reunion tour, according to newspaper reports today.
Rumours suggest the film-maker was present at the Roses’ London press conference last week, and will begin filming the band’s preparations for their massive homecoming shows at Manchester’s Heaton Park next June.
The Stone Roses will head out on a world tour, armed with new songs, after their three-date stop in Heaton Park is completed, with further UK shows expected to be a part of the itinerary. Yesterday, a fansite published what it claimed to be full details of the world tour, but those rumours were swiftly dismissed as false by a band spokesperson.
Director Shane Meadows had released a series of acclaimed British films, including Once Upon a Time In The Midlands and the BAFTA-nominated Twenty Four Seven before This Is England landed a series of awards following its release in 2006.
