Thom Yorke Confirms Radiohead Will Tour In 2012

radioheadRadiohead frontman Thom Yorke has confirmed the band hope 2012 will be a busier year touring wise after restricting themselves to just one gig in support of ‘King Of Limbs‘ this year.

The group’s sole outing came via a ‘secret’ set at Glastonbury last June, but Yorke has now told BBC Radio 1‘s Giles Peterson there will be significantly more live duties come the new year.

“The idea is to go out and play next year on and off during the year,” he said.

The comments echo sentiments expressed by Radiohead drummer Philip Selway in July, who told BBC 6Music the success of that low-key Glastonbury visit had re-ignited a passion for playing live.

“Absolutely that is what we are talking about that the moment, it felt exciting doing that and it felt like we had something else to offer musically,” he said when asked whether they are planning more live gigs. “It just felt like a new lease of life in what we are doing, and we would like to see where that takes us.”

In addition, Radiohead have announced two New York shows at the Roseland Ballroom on September 28th and 29th.
